Puppy pre-school
Socialising your puppy in the early weeks and months is key to raising a good natured, well behaved pet.
Our veterinary nurses run a 4-week puppy pre-school to help and support new owners with plenty of information and advice, whilst encouraging puppies to experience as many new situations as possible. Your pet is able to play with other puppies and get used to being handled in a consulting room, making it less likely that he or she will feel stressed when visiting the surgery later in life.
From play biting to toilet training, what to do if your dog jumps up and what you should know about dog owning and the law; these are just some of the topics covered during the Monday evening sessions and our qualified and experienced nurses can help and support you one-to-one through those aspects of puppy’s early life that you may be finding difficult.
An information support pack and goodie bags are provided and we feel sure both you and your puppy will enjoy and benefit from the experience.
The cost is £35.00 for the 4-week course and we ask for a £20 deposit when registering. Classes commence at 7.30pm
Puppies must be under 15 weeks old at the start of the course and have had their first vaccination at least a week before it commences. Places are limited and all puppies are welcome, although those registered at Castle Vets will always take priority.
Please contact the practice for more information on the start date for the next session and to book a place.
