Accessibility 

We have endeavored to ensure that the public areas, facilities and car park at the practice are accessible to all of our clients. Please let us know if you need any assistance when you arrive, we will be happy to help you.

Travelling to Castle Vets

By Car 

From A4074 / Oxford
Follow the A4074. Turn right and pass over Caversham Bridge, then continue on the A4155 (Caversham Road). At the next roundabout follow the A329 towards the A4, Oxford & Newbury. At the top of the slip road, turn right. Take the third exit onto the A4155 (Castle Hill). At the next set of lights, turn right onto Russell Street/Tilehurst Road. Castle Vets is on the left just past the BP Garage.

From M4 Junction 11
Leave the M4 at Junction 11 and join the A33 heading towards Reading. Follow the A33 and turn left onto the A329. Exit immediately on the slip road signposted for the A4, Oxford & Newbury. At the top of the slip road, take the first exit left onto the A4155 (Castle Hill). At the next set of lights, turn right onto Russell Street/Tilehurst Road. Castle Vets is on the left just past the BP Garage.

We have a large private car park directly outside the practice.

By Bus 

There are two bus stops located within a few minutes walk from the practice and the 33 is the most frequent.

Coming from Reading Town Centre towards Tilehurst

The bus stop is located on Tilehurst Road, close to the traffic lights, just before the BP garage.

Coming from Tilehurst towards Reading Town Centre

The bus stop is located at the top of Russell Street

On Arrival At Castle Vets

When you arrive at Castle Vets, you will find the Dog and Small Pets door on the left of the entrance and the Cat Clinic door on the right. Please let the receptionist know that you have arrived.

For your pet’s safety, please ensure that he or she is secure at all times either on a lead/harness or in a secure carrier.  If you have forgotten yours, let us know and you will be able to borrow one.

If your pet is becoming distressed by being in the practice let us know, we may be able to arrange for you to wait in an empty consulting room (quiet times only) or if you prefer, you can wait outside and we will call you when the vet or nurse is ready to see you.
