Repeat Prescriptions

Select here to order a repeat prescription(s) for your pet. 

You should allow at least 5 working days notice for your request to be authorised by a veterinary surgeon. If the medication is require more urgently, please phone the surgery on 0118 957 4488.

If you require medications for more than one pet, please submit a separate request for each animal.

Your veterinary surgeon can only prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products following a clinical assessment of the pet under his or her care.

The general policy of this practice is to re-assess a pet requiring repeat prescriptions, or supplies of relevant veterinary medicinal products, every 3 months but this may vary with individual circumstances.

A re-examination is important and necessary in order to monitor your pet for changes in their condition, new problems and/or any side effects that the medication or treatments may be causing.

The standard charge for a re-examination consultation is currently £40.00.

Written Prescriptions

You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products for your pet from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a written prescription so that you can obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.

The cost of a written prescription is currently £18.25, plus £8.22 for each additional medication on the prescription.

Please note that a written prescription may not be appropriate in all cases and in particular for pets that are in-patients or in cases where immediate treatment is necessary.
